Community Urbanism in Springfield

Covid-19 and Cities

The Design Center is engaged in exciting research related to Covid-19 and the challenges and opportunites it provides for the design of sustainable cities. The work, funded by UMass Extension and in collaboration with MassINC and WalkBoston, documents changes that cities and towns are making to adapt to the pandemic. Our findings describe how post-pandemic cities and streetscapes can be healthier, more equitable and sustainable.
